Alors que le film This Is It, hommage à Michael Jackson, est attendu pour le 28 octobre 2009, le single inédit du même nom sera envoyé aux radios le 12 octobre.

Michael Jackson avait écrit la chanson This Is It pour ses concerts prévus au mois de juillet à Londres.
Deux versions de ce titre seront disponibles sur la bande originale du film dont la sortie est prévu pour le 26 du même mois.
A noter que les frères de Michael, The Jacksons, participent aux chœurs.
